FAQs

All those little questions....answered

Can we visit to look around?

We would be delighted to show you around Minley Manor and to learn more about your wedding plans. As we are a private residence we can offer a private viewing and consultation strictly by pre-booked appointments only.
Viewings are limited so to arrange your visit please contact us via the website and enquire about our upcoming availability.

How many guests can you cater for?

For outdoor events there is really no maximum capacity but we are easily able to entertain up to 500 people in the grounds.
The Orangery can seat 180 guests for a reception on long banquet tables; around 190-200 on round tables, depending on their size.
Standing capacity for an evening reception is a maximum of 300.

Will there be another wedding or event on the same day as ours?

No, The Orangery and grounds at Minley Manor is yours and yours alone, all day and all evening!

What is Dry Hire?

Dry hire refers to hiring a venue as a blank canvas or empty space as opposed to all-inclusive with catering. As Minley Manor is a dry hire venue, you have the option to design your own bespoke wedding and work with your choice of caterers, furnishings and décor, or we can provide you with our recommended suppliers that we have worked with before.

Are you licenced for civil ceremonies?

We cater for more personal, celebrant weddings which allows you to have your ceremony anywhere you wish and not confined to a licensed room or structure. Legal signings can be done at your local registry office for just £50 the day before, allowing you the freedom to have a completely flexible wedding ceremony on site at Minley with no time constraints. However, for those couples who really want a civil ceremony, we do hope to be licenced in the future.

When can we have access to decorate?

You and your suppliers will be able to access the venue from 8am the day of the wedding, but we may be able to allow access from midday the day before, if it is not in use. This won’t be able to be confirmed until closer to the time.

Can we have the wedding ceremony outdoors?

Absolutely! We are ideal for outside celebrations and have many areas that are perfect for ceremonies such as the Wellingtonia Avenue, The Dutch Garden, The Summerhouse, The South Terrace and the Woodland Gardens.

Can we use our own caterers?

We have a wide range of approved caterers that have worked with us before and know the logistics of the venue, so we would always recommend that you contact our preferred caterers first for their availability.
However, you are welcome to use your own caterers, subject to a £500 surcharge

Can we supply our own drinks and alcohol, and do you charge corkage?

You are welcome to supply your own drinks to your guests and provide your own free bar as we do not charge corkage.
Should you require a paid bar, a supplier with an alcohol licence will be required. Your caterers can usually provide this service for you as an additional cost to any catering package.

What time does our evening reception need to finish?

Preferably guests are to leave by midnight but we a very flexible, and an extension to 1am or later is possible by advance request at an extra £350 +vat

Do you allow fireworks?

This may be possible on request providing it is before 11pm and may be subject to an extra charge and a site visit with the provider

What about parking?

There is a free car park onsite with adequate space for all your guests. Should guests wish to leave vehicles overnight then we ask that they return to collect between 9am and 11am the next day. Please note we cannot accept any liability for cars parked unattended overnight.
